Convert Your Business Goals into Marketing Goals for 2020

Every successful business owner sets long-term goals and objectives for their company. They may even have an inbound marketing plan too. However, there must be marketing goals set which are trackable and align with the company’s business goals. That way, the performance of the team members can be tracked and analyzed along the way.

It is important for team leadership and team members to understand what they’re all working toward. To accomplish this, you must set SMART goals for your team. These are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound goals. Once you’ve created SMART goals, there will be no confusion about what you want the end result to be.

Bad Marketing Goals

Austin Stanfel communicates in the Stanfel Media Courses that you should set broad or generic marketing goals. If your goal is to “rank # 1 on Google” or “increase your website leads,” then you won’t know where to start. You need to do how fast you want to rank # 1 or how many leads you’d like to generate. Are these actions going to get you closer to accomplishing your business goals? That is the most important thing to think about.

Good Marketing Goals

Your marketing goals should be more specific and well-defined. They should also help get you closer to satisfying your business goals. Some examples of good marketing goals include:

-       To generate 50,000 organic hits and 1,000 leads to my website over the next 6 months.
To generate $100,000 in revenue within 12 months.
