1) Figure out the amount of revenue you want to generate over the next 12 months.

2) Figure out how many sales it will take to generate this much revenue.

3) Determine the rate in which you’ll need to close deals with customers.

4) Determine the number of sales qualified leads you’ll require.

5) Determine the number of marketing qualified leads you’ll require over the next year.

6) Determine the number of leads you’ll need to generate over the next year.

7) Figure out the number of impressions and hits you’ll need to your website over the next year.

8) Apply your other important business goals into your marketing goals, especially the ones you can track with analytics. Some examples include amount of revenue, number of job application submissions, number of lead conversions, etc.

9) Set benchmarks for your metrics every quarter.
